VIDEO. Hayk Marutyan Hit Me from Behind, Nikol Pashinyan Says
I have never viewed Hayk Marutyan with suspicion. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement today during a broadcast on Public TV while responding to a question about the parallels between former mayor and the ruling party’s candidate for Yerevan Council Tigran Avinyan.
“To this day, Hayk Marutyan has not looked me in the eyes and asked how it is that I have deviated from the values of the revolution, how I have become dark, as he puts it,” Pashinyan stated.
He noted that Marutyan hit him from behind, while Avinyan held firm. “This discussion is not about politics for me, but primarily about simple human relationships,” he said.
“At that time, I fully trusted Hayk Marutyan’s desire to be close. Despite many of our teammates saying that he was coming as a ‘gastroenterologist’ and that he would abandon the old script in case of a situation change. That friendship was a friendship of good times,” he added.
According to him, Marutyan is making political genre humor for the first time in his career and is not coordinating the content with the characters of that humor. “This indicates that Armenia has not deviated from the revolutionary right path,” he said.
