Samvel Babayan Was Not ‘Asked’ But Demanded and Warned Not to Organize Any Action: Artsakh National Assembly
Samvel Babayan has disseminated misleading information in his congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Artsakh on September 9. This was stated in a declaration by the Artsakh National Assembly, which quotes Babayan's statement.
“Mr. Babayan writes, ‘I find it necessary to inform you that a consultation was convened yesterday evening with the participation of the acting President of the Republic and political forces, during which I was asked to refrain from political actions…’ It is important to emphasize that Mr. Babayan was invited to the National Assembly, informed of certain developments and the decisions made in this regard. He was not ‘asked’ but rather DEMANDED and WARNED to refrain from organizing any action. Mr. Babayan has given his consent,” the statement reads.
It should be recalled that Samvel Babayan had stated that he was asked to refrain from political actions, claiming that they had received a threatening call from Baku, indicating that there would be a use of force if elections for the president were held.
