International Committee of the Red Cross Visits All Armenians Detained in Azerbaijan

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has visited all Armenians detained in Azerbaijan. Among them were Vagif Khachatryan, abducted from the illegal checkpoint in Hakar, and reserve officer Gagik Voskanyan, who was captured in August.

The ICRC representatives have also kept a close eye on the conditions of detention and the health status of these individuals. However, the organization’s office in Armenia could not provide further details.

According to Amatuni, “I cannot disclose many details of our procedures, as our work is fundamentally confidential. The only thing I can confirm is the fact of the visit at the end of August and the beginning of September, during which we again met with all individuals detained, namely Armenians. ... In the context of the visits, which were conducted as private meetings, we provided each person the opportunity to contact family members.”
