Germany National Team Becomes Basketball World Champion for the First Time
The Germany national basketball team has won the world championship for the first time. At the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines, the German team defeated Serbia with a score of 83:77.
During the final match, guard Dennis Schröder scored 28 points, making him the most valuable player of the game. On the Serbian side, the top performer was guard Aleksa Avramović, who earned 21 points.
The Germany national team won all their matches in the tournament, including a game against the USA (113:111). The Serbian team had previously lost to Italy but had secured a 95:86 victory against Canada.
Schröder also plays for the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers. Franz Wagner, who scored 19 points in the game against Serbia, competes for the NBA's Orlando Magic.
