Expert on Azerbaijan Tatevik Hairapetyan Discusses Russian Humanitarian Cargo
Expert on Azerbaijan Tatevik Hairapetyan writes:
“According to Azerbaijani media reports, the Russian Red Cross has loaded food and essential goods in the territory of the Russian Federation and is now moving through Azerbaijani territory towards Aghdam. It can be assumed that Russian products will be allowed to enter Artsakh from Aghdam. After that, Azerbaijan is likely to have promised to open the Lachin corridor. In my impression, this is an interim solution, confidently proposed by the Russian side and accepted by Azerbaijan and Artsakh. In fact, Artsakh does not accept Azerbaijani products, does not allow them for their Red Crescent organization, but it pulls down barriers for the Russian Red Cross and Russian goods. Azerbaijan considers this a gain, and Artsakh shows that it remains faithful to its position of not accepting Azerbaijani products. I hope that the Lachin corridor will indeed be opened afterwards. Nevertheless, bitter experience shows that 'the devil is in the details.' We can only hope that every point has been clearly agreed upon and that Azerbaijan will not backtrack on its promises,” she noted.
Earlier, we reported that the Russian Red Cross has sent humanitarian aid to Artsakh via the Aghdam road.
