Borrell: "We and our partners are working closely to isolate Russia"
The European Union aims to closely collaborate with partners, including Georgia, in supporting Ukraine. This statement was made by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, who is on a visit to Georgia.
Borrell stated that the EU "supports and will support Ukraine as long as necessary." He added, "We and our partners are working closely to isolate Russia and welcome cooperation in ensuring compliance with the established sanctions," as reported by Interfax during a joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi.
Borrell emphasized that as a partner of the European Union, Georgia must also closely cooperate in ensuring compliance with sanctions imposed against Russia.
The head of EU diplomacy expressed regret about the restoration of air communication between Russia and Georgia. In turn, Garibashvili stated that Georgia fully shares the EU's and the international community's approaches regarding issues concerning Ukraine. The Prime Minister commented on the restoration of air communication between Russia and Georgia.
"We previously clarified that no Russian airline under sanctions operates or flies to Georgia, so in this regard, we are acting transparently and clearly," said the Prime Minister of Georgia.
