UN Ready to Agree to All Russian Conditions for Resuming Grain Deal: Bild

The United Nations (UN) is prepared to agree to all the conditions set by the Russian side to resume the grain deal. This was reported by the newspaper Bild, referring to a confidential letter from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, sent on August 28.

According to the publication, Guterres invites Lavrov to 'construct an agreement based on four fundamental principles between the UN Secretariat and Russia,' which could enable the 'restoration of the Black Sea initiative.' The article notes that the 'implementation of these principles will lead to the fulfillment of all requirements,' previously announced by the Russian side.

As per Bild, in the letter addressed to Lavrov, Guterres expressed the UN's readiness to 'ensure the safety of Russian vessels in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea from Ukrainian attacks within four to six weeks.'
