Erdogan to Present Outcomes of Talks with Vladimir Putin at G20 Summit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will present the outcomes of his negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the 18th G20 summit taking place in India. This was reported by a diplomatic source in the Turkish capital to RIA Novosti.

“During the summit, Erdogan will also conduct talks with the leaders of the G20 countries, with a particular focus on Turkey and the UN initiatives aimed at resuming the Black Sea grain initiative... The president will inform about the Russian side's proposals regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and the resumption of the Black Sea grain initiative,” the source stated.

It is noteworthy that the presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, met on September 4 in Sochi. The two leaders discussed the situation surrounding the grain deal and other issues.

The operation of the grain deal was suspended on July 18, with Russia notifying Turkey, Ukraine, and the UN about its objection to extending it. Earlier, President Vladimir Putin had noted that the terms of the deal were not being fulfilled concerning Russia, despite the UN's efforts, as Western countries were unwilling to meet their commitments.

Previously, the Kremlin announced that there are currently no prerequisites for moving the situation in Ukraine towards peace, with the absolute priority for Russia being to achieve the objectives of its special operation, which at this moment is possible only through military means.
