Concerned About the Fate of the Detainees: The Russian Embassy in Armenia Comments on the Arrest of Mika Badalyan and Ashot Gevorgyan

The Russian Embassy in Armenia has commented on the arrest of Russian citizen, blogger, and activist Mika Badalyan and Ashot Gevorgyan, a columnist for Sputnik Armenia news agency.

As previously reported, seven individuals were detained on suspicion of illegal arms trafficking in the Syunik region on September 6 and 7, including Mika Badalyan and Ashot Gevorgyan.

According to the press service of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, diplomats are in contact with the editors of the news agency and are closely monitoring the situation's developments.

"We are concerned about the fate of the detainees and will take steps to clarify the circumstances of the incident," the statement said.
