According to Azerbaijani Media, 3 Football Players from Artsakh Have Been Released

Azerbaijani media reports that three football players from Artsakh, previously detained at the Lachin border checkpoint, have been released.

To verify the accuracy of the information, Auroranews contacted Zara Amatuni, the head of communication programs for the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Armenia. She stated in our conversation that they do not have any comments on this matter, as they have not been approached regarding it.

“We are ready to facilitate their transfer should we be approached,” said Amatuni.

It is important to note that there has not yet been an official statement regarding this matter.

For reference, Azerbaijan had previously sentenced the three young men to ten days of detention under false charges of “disgracing the flag of Azerbaijan.”
