Former Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan Makes a Statement
Former Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan has addressed a CNN article regarding the blockade of Artsakh.
“Dear compatriots, recent months have seen major international media outlets discuss the blockade of Artsakh. Among these, CNN’s publication today holds significant importance, as I responded to the author's questions before resigning from the presidency. Some of my answers have been included in the article, which offers a comprehensive presentation of the situation from both political and humanitarian perspectives.”
“My following points were presented in the article:
- “Azerbaijan has blocked the Republic of Artsakh with the primary aim of committing genocide against our people.”
- “Considering Azerbaijan’s genocidal intentions and its long-term systematic state policy of anti-Armenian hatred, our people have serious concerns about the safety of any products arising from Azerbaijan.”
- “Instead of pretending to provide humanitarian assistance, Azerbaijan should unblock the Lachin corridor.”
- “I am disappointed with the responses so far from the EU and the USA. The underlying reasons for Europe and America’s inaction and failures are mainly geopolitical, which also include dependence on energy supplies from Azerbaijan.”
