Azerbaijan Has a 'Plan B' Regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor' - Bayramov

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, during a visit to Hungary, addressed the opening of the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor,' insisting that it is part of the trilateral agreements reached in 2020. 'Based on the trilateral statements of November 2020 and January 2021, a working group has been established at the level of the deputy prime ministers of the three countries. The work has been ongoing for nearly three years,' Bayramov stated.

He complained that there seems to be a feeling that the parties are close to completing the work, but at the last moment, Armenia suddenly raises new issues, which again brings the process to a standstill. According to Bayramov, such an approach could lead Yerevan to miss another profitable opportunity to improve the country's economy, as the route could simply bypass Armenia.

'Azerbaijan will continue to work in this direction with a 'Plan B.' The project will be implemented even without Armenia's participation, but in this case, it will simply be excluded from the list of beneficiaries,' Bayramov concluded.
