Kyiv Receives $100 Billion in Aid from the West, Says Ukraine's Defense Minister
Kyiv has received $100 billion in aid from the West since February 2022, stated Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov in an interview with Ukrinform.
“If we calculate and assess all aid packages today, I believe we have already received about $100 billion,” the minister said.
Reznikov clarified that over $50 billion has come specifically from the United States, with “it already reaching nearly $60 billion.”
The minister added that a significant portion of the ministry's budget is directed towards financial support and compensation for military personnel.
On August 29, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a new military aid package worth $250 million for Ukraine. The Secretary detailed that the new package includes resources that will assist Ukraine on the battlefield, including AIM-9M missiles for air defense, ammunition for high mobility artillery rocket systems, 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells, among others.
