Azerbaijan Strikes Armenian Army Vehicle with UAV in Armenian Territory, Fire Erupts: E. Ghazaryan
Public-political figure and former head of the Constitutional Court staff Edgar Ghazaryan wrote on his Facebook page: "On September 2 at noon, Azerbaijan struck a military vehicle belonging to the Armenian Armed Forces with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, deep in the border area, in an open space. Following this, a fire erupted, which quickly spread in the mountains of Vayots Dzor, burning hundreds of hectares of grassland. Rescue teams have not been able to extinguish the fire due to dry weather, mountainous and hard-to-access terrain, and a lack of water resources in the area. According to some reports, a rescue service officer died during firefighting efforts.
Neither the Ministry of Defense of Armenia nor the Ministry of Internal Affairs has provided complete information about this state of emergency in terms of military and fire safety, concealing the reality from the public. Instead of allocating forces to organize firefighting efforts in the Vayots Dzor region, the police from the Vayots Dzor regional administration have been brought to Yerevan to monitor the opposition rally. Thousands of police officers are sitting idly in central Yerevan, while the mountains of Vayots Dzor are ablaze due to a fire created by the enemy."
