Unresolved Issues in the EAEU, Says Belarusian Prime Minister

There are fundamentally unresolved issues in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the development of which depends on the further advancement of the energy bloc. This was stated by Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko during the extraordinary meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Tsaghkadzor.

He continued the theme raised by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the importance of creating a common gas market within the EAEU. “Despite the active phase of work on common energy markets, there are still fundamentally unresolved issues, the development of which depends on the future advancement of the EAEU energy bloc,” said the Belarusian Prime Minister.

He also emphasized that it is necessary to discuss the priorities for the further development of the EAEU. Golovchenko noted that in the context of existing challenges and rapidly changing circumstances, it is essential to clearly define the vectors for the EAEU's future development.

Earlier, the Armenian Prime Minister highlighted the principled importance of creating a common gas market and energy market within the union. It should be noted that today an extraordinary meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was held in a face-to-face format in Tsaghkadzor. The agenda included issues related to the further development of integration processes in the EAEU in the medium and long term.
