EU’s Chief Diplomat Borrell is the Leader in Mistakes and Blunders

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, has made a series of serious diplomatic errors during his four years in office, including in interactions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Politico publication.

“In almost four years as the head of the European Commission’s foreign policy office, Josep Borrell has created a diplomatic mess with mistakes in Moscow, blunders in Brussels, and on Twitter,” the publication notes.

After analyzing all of the diplomat’s mistakes, the publication mockingly refers to him as the leader in mistakes and blunders as the EU’s high representative.

The newspaper considers his most serious shortcomings to be the public revelation of secret plans to supply fighter jets to Ukraine, which caused outrage among EU officials, the publication of confidential documents on Twitter, as well as racist and sexist remarks. In particular, in one of his tweets, Borrell referred to the entire world outside the EU as a jungle and stated that he was pleased that Spanish female footballers are learning to play like men.
