6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Azerbaijan

An earthquake was recorded in Azerbaijan last night, felt as well in Artsakh and Syunik. This information has been reported by the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs press service.
“On August 23rd, at 01:23 local time (21:23 UTC on August 22nd), a 4.6 magnitude earthquake was registered by the seismic protection territorial service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs at the coordinates 38.93° North and 49.11° East, 52 km south of the city of Neftchala, with a depth of 10 km,” the Ministry stated.
The intensity of the underground shock at the epicenter was measured at 6.0 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was felt in Artsakh with a magnitude of 3.0 and in the Syunik region with an intensity of 2-3.0.
