VIDEO: We Terrify ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Prigozhin Calls on 'Real Heroes'
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Group, has released his first video message following the attempted armed uprising in Russia and the "march on Moscow." The video was posted on the Telegram channel 'Разгрузка Вагнера' and features a call to those wishing to enlist in the group's ranks.
Prigozhin stands in front of the camera in an open area. From his words, it seems the filming took place in Africa, although he does not specify which country.
"We are working. The temperature is +50. Everything is as we want it to be," says the businessman.
He states that the Wagner Group is currently conducting reconnaissance operations and "continues to carry out the assigned tasks." "We promised that we would deliver," Prigozhin reminds his audience. According to him, the company is "making Russia stronger across all continents, while making Africa freer."
"Justice and happiness for the African peoples; we terrify ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and other gangs. We are hiring real heroes," Prigozhin addressed his intended audience.
Earlier, residents of the Polish city of Krakow reported seeing sticky labels on walls calling for joining the Wagner Group. Based on their complaints, local authorities have launched an investigation. Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski stated that units of the group based in Belarus have attempted to infiltrate the country, and Warsaw expects "new infiltration attempts."
