Lev Vasiliev, Creator of KamAZ, Passes Away at 99
Lev Vasiliev, the creator of KamAZ, has passed away at the age of 99. This was reported by RIA Novosti, referencing the Embassy of Tatarstan in Moscow.
It was noted that the participant of the Great Patriotic War led KamAZ for 12 years. During this time, the automotive giant was built from scratch, unique personnel potential was developed at the factory, and top specialists from all over the country were engaged in Naberezhnye Chelny.
Vasiliev also served as the general director of the Moskvitch plant, where he participated in the creation of the first cars. He headed the Ministry of Light and Food Industry and Household Appliances Engineering of the USSR.
The embassy expressed its condolences to Vasiliev's family and friends.
