26-Year-Old Arrested for Brutal Murder in Yerevan

The brutal murder that took place in Yerevan has been solved. This information comes from the Ministry of Internal Affairs police.

“On August 20, at 17:04, the 911 service reported to the operational management center of the police about a fire in one of the apartments on Koghbatsyu Street. After the firefighters arrived at the specified address and extinguished the fire, they discovered a body,” the report states.

The police have reported that they found stab wounds on the body. Thanks to the measures taken, the identity of the body has been established; it belongs to a 28-year-old resident of the Armavir region. They also identified the suspect in the crime.

“According to preliminary data, the 26-year-old suspect delivered multiple blows with a sharp stabbing-cutting tool to the 28-year-old citizen, causing death. Subsequently, in an attempt to conceal the evidence, he set the apartment on fire. On August 21, at 02:40, the suspect was found at the Bavra border checkpoint, arrested, and transferred to the Central Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He has been presented to the prosecuting authority,” the report notes.

It is reminded that earlier it was reported that a brutal murder took place in Yerevan, where a 28-year-old man was killed by several knife blows.
