Luna-25 Collides with the Moon and Is Destroyed

The Luna-25 interplanetary automatic station no longer exists due to its collision with the lunar surface, Roscosmos reported on Sunday.

According to the state corporation, a specially created interagency commission will address the issues regarding the causes of the spacecraft's loss.

Communications with the Luna-25 station had been lost the day before, noted Roscosmos.

Earlier, it was reported that after almost 50 years, the Luna-25 station took off from the Vostochny Cosmodrome towards Earth’s natural satellite, the Moon.
