Earthquake Near Shorja Felt in Yerevan and Gegharkunik Province

On August 21, at 13:59 local time (09:59 GMT), the seismic network of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8. The epicenter was located 6 km south of the village of Shorja at a depth of 10 km, with geographic coordinates of 40.45°N latitude and 45.28°E longitude.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the intensity of the aftershocks in the epicentral zone reached 3-4 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was felt in Yerevan at a magnitude of 2, and in the Gegharkunik Province at 2-3 magnitude.
