Fire Breaks Out in a Building in Central Yerevan; Body Discovered in Burnt Apartment
A fire broke out in one of the buildings in central Yerevan. This information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.
The National Crisis Management Center received the alert around 5:00 PM today. According to the report, smoke was observed coming from an apartment in building number 1 on Koghbaku street in Yerevan.
"Two fire and rescue teams, one fire ladder, and a duty group from the national crisis management center’s operational and fire extinguishing and rescue operations organization division were dispatched to the scene," the statement said.
The fire was contained around 5:30 PM and completely extinguished about 10 minutes later. A body of a citizen was discovered in the apartment.
The rescue service reported that the balcony with belongings was burned, partially damaging the living room furniture, and the kitchen and bathroom suspended ceiling were thermally affected.
