VIDEO: Canada's Sky has Turned Red Due to Forest Fires
More than 240 forest fires are raging in Canada, causing the sky to turn red. Residents in the northern part of the country are being evacuated. The smoke from the fires has also reached some cities in the United States.
Earlier, authorities in the northern city of Yellowknife declared a state of emergency due to the threat posed by the spreading forest fires.
Canada's Minister of Public Safety, Bill Blair, had previously admitted that the situation related to forest fires in the country is the worst this century.
At the beginning of August, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (CAMS) reported that the wildfires in Canada have led to record carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere, accounting for over 25% of harmful substances in the world's air this year.
