Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov Announces Willingness to Resign
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov has announced that he is prepared to resign. On August 10, the Ukrainian publication 'Pravda' reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky is searching for a replacement for the head of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, Reznikov. There are at least two candidates for the position: Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov and Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.
Later, 'Strana.ua' reported that the West seeks to see a woman in the leadership of the Ministry of Defense. Subsequently, Member of Parliament Oleksii Honcharenko stated that candidates for the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have withdrawn from the position.
Reznikov remarked, “Such decisions are made by the head of state, but I can do this if I no longer have the strength and sense of humor to laugh at those who want my resignation.”
