MFA and Police Investigate Child Abuse Incident
Following the dissemination of a video depicting child abuse on the internet, the Human Rights Defender's Office has initiated an investigation into the incident. This was announced by the Defender's Office.
In light of the child's best interests, the Defender urges individuals not to share the video that has surfaced on social media, refraining from disclosing any personal details that could identify the child. The Defender emphasizes that the best interests of each child are a priority.
The state has an obligation to take necessary and sufficient measures to ensure the protection of children against violence. The Defender will be sending letters to the relevant state bodies demanding necessary actions within their jurisdiction.
The police have reported that necessary work is underway. It is noted that earlier a video had circulated online showing evident physical, sexual, and mental abuse directed towards a minor, allegedly perpetrated by family members, specifically the mother.
