Video: We are taking the post office building at Republic Square, creating a Public Joint Stock Company. Pashinyan inquired about the project

The government has decided to privatize the "Haypost" building located in Republic Square and turn it into a Public Joint Stock Company. This move aligns with the Armenian government's adopted policies, particularly to implement reforms in state property management and fulfill the provisions of point 103 of the five-year action plan.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted, "The famous building at the Republic Square can play a larger role in our city, but for various objective and subjective reasons, it does not fulfill that role. The idea regarding this building is as follows: we are taking this building; incidentally, it is the first time we apply this model; we are creating a joint-stock company... we will be issuing shares, and those shares will be distributed on the Yerevan Stock Exchange."

In the first phase of the pilot program, this project aims to establish the "Republic Plaza" Public Joint Stock Company by investing in the building located at 28 Nalbandyan Street, Yerevan, with a total area of 7809.9 square meters and a land area of 0.262 hectares (the owner has a co-ownership right for the building area and common spaces with a share of 78099/81153). The state spends approximately 33 million drams annually for the maintenance and servicing of the building.

Pashinyan added, "This has been a relatively long-discussed issue, and two questions arise in the context of this decision project: how quickly we act when making decisions. The second news, which is fundamentally good, is that what we discuss eventually becomes decisions. Remember, we have discussed several times that attractive properties are put up for privatization, but there is no interest. Therefore, we are taking significant steps to move forward."
