Video: Gendarmerie Police to Be Implemented in Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat, and Armavir Marzes

During a government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the government's goal is to implement the gendarmerie service across the entire republic and spoke about the steps being taken in this direction.

"In the last four marzes where there is no gendarmerie police, namely Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat, and Armavir, we plan to establish the gendarmerie service in October. Everything seems to be going according to plan, but we do not consider our work finished with that. In the next phase, our priority will be to increase the degree of women's involvement in the gendarmerie police; today, admission applications have been accepted. From the moment the gendarmerie service is established in the four marzes in October, a new educational process will begin, in which women's involvement will be about 70-80 percent. I want to happily emphasize that in the "Global Gender Gap" report published by the World Economic Forum, which assesses gender equality in each country across four main sectors, Armenia ranked 61st out of 146 countries," Pashinyan stated.
