VIDEO: ATMs in Ireland Dispensing 1000 Euros to Anyone Due to Technical Glitch

In Ireland, a major banking error has allowed anyone, even those without funds in their accounts, to withdraw €1000 from ATMs. According to The Telegraph, people have started to line up at these ATMs.

The police have reported being aware of the "unusual activity" at the ATMs, and that problems related to banking services have been ongoing since August 15. Following the emergence of massive queues on social media in Dublin, Limerick, and Donegal, authorities have imposed monitoring on certain ATMs.

The Irish bank has warned customers that any cash withdrawn will be deducted from their accounts, even if the balance is insufficient. "While we understand that customers may not be able to verify their balance at this time, they should not withdraw or transfer funds if they risk becoming overdrawn," the bank stated in its announcement.

The police also promised to remind citizens of their "personal responsibility in conducting personal banking transactions." The issue has also affected the bank's online app, which allowed transfers of up to €500 to Revolut accounts. There are currently no estimates on when the glitch can be fixed, and the bank has disabled several services, including online services and mobile apps.
