Upper Lars Checkpoint to Operate Under Limited Regime from August 17 to 26

The State Revenue Committee reports that due to the scheduled reconstruction of the Upper Lars checkpoint, as informed by the Russian Federal Customs Service, asphalt works will be carried out at the Upper Lars checkpoint from August 17 to 26 in the direction from Russia to Georgia. During this period, 12 passenger and subsequently 8 freight vehicle lanes will be affected.

These works will be conducted in the lanes designated for freight and light passenger vehicles, which will be phased out temporarily from operation, resulting in a gradual reduction of the checkpoint's capacity.

The Russian Federal Customs Service cautions citizens and freight carriers about the potential decrease in the Upper Lars checkpoint's throughput and recommends considering alternative transport routes, as well as planning the dates and times for crossing the border taking into account the ongoing works.
