Textbooks for First Graders in Artsakh Should Be Gathered from Children, Says Deputy Minister of Education
We will have last year's program, and simply due to the situation, we will need to demonstrate localized approaches in certain schools. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Mikayel Hambartsumyan during an interview with Artsakhpress.
“Given the terrain, the school, and issues related to transportation, certain elements will change, undoubtedly. There are still problems with textbooks and stationery. The issue of backpacks has been taken on by the Armenian Educational Foundation, and backpacks will be tailored on-site. There are various reactions regarding this matter. Everyone has the same opportunities, and we must derive the maximum from these minimal opportunities,” noted Hambartsumyan.
He also added, “The program is intended for first graders, and parents themselves decide whether that backpack is necessary for their child. No one has the right to impose it on them. If possible, we will also procure these backpacks for needy children studying in the 2nd and 3rd grades.”
The Deputy Minister indicated that textbooks should be gathered from children for first graders and distributed accordingly, adding that textbooks will be collected in the schools.
