Death Toll from Clashes in Libya Reaches 55
The death toll from clashes in the Libyan capital has reached 55. According to a representative from Tripoli's emergency and support center, an additional 146 people have been injured.
The clashes in Tripoli have been the most serious in recent years and ceased late Tuesday evening after one group returned a rival group's leader. It was the arrest of this leader that triggered the military operations.
Previously, it was reported that the number of casualties from clashes between armed groups in the southern outskirts of Tripoli on August 14 had reached 27.
