Azerbaijan's Armed Forces Open Fire on Armenian Positions: Ministry of Defense of Armenia

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia reports that on August 16, around 17:30, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire using small arms towards Armenian positions located in the Norabak area.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Defense of Armenia issued a statement today mentioning that on August 16, reservist G. O. had reportedly abandoned his combat position voluntarily, and search operations were underway to locate him.

Subsequently, the Azerbaijani side announced that they had arrested an Armenian serviceman. They seized the opportunity to spread yet another piece of misinformation, claiming that there had allegedly been an 'attempt at diversionary infiltration.'

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia refuted the Azerbaijani claims, stating that reports regarding an 'attempt at diversionary infiltration by the Armenian Armed Forces in the eastern section of the border' are absolutely false.
