Death Toll from Clashes in Libya Reaches 27; 106 Injured

The number of fatalities from clashes between armed groups in the southern outskirts of Tripoli on August 14 has reached 27, according to reports by Al Jazeera.

Doctors have also reported that 106 people have been injured. Earlier reports indicated 9 dead and dozens injured. In total, 234 families have been evacuated from the southern frontline area of the capital.

A number of doctors and nurses have found themselves trapped due to the fighting while treating the injured, as informed by a local medical center.

It is noteworthy that the clashes broke out following the arrest of Mahmoud Hamza, the commander of the 444th Brigade, which controls part of Tripoli, by special deterrent forces. Hamza was released on August 15, and according to local residents, fighting has somewhat calmed down since his release.
