Marukyan: Hajiev Should Stop the Campaign of Deception and Not Attempt to Divert International Attention
To date, the Armenian side has taken all necessary steps in the context of building trust, including transferring all maps of land mines to Azerbaijan. However, in response, Azerbaijan continues to make false accusations regarding the ongoing placement of mines and, contrary to agreements, has not even released prisoners of war and other individuals held in its prisons as a confidence-building measure.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Armenia to Special Assignments Edmon Marukyan on his Twitter, responding to the accusations of Hikmet Hajiev, head of the external policy department of the Azerbaijani presidential administration.
“Azerbaijan regularly attacks and occupies various parts of the sovereign territory of Armenia, violates the fundamental obligations of November 9, and keeps the people of Nagorno-Karabakh under complete blockade. Hikmet Hajiev would do well to stop this campaign of lies, as it can in no way divert international attention from Azerbaijan's policy of ethnic cleansing,” Marukyan wrote.
