Video: Fishermen Rescue Family of Beluga Whales Stranded on Shore in Kamchatka

Fishermen in Kamchatka have rescued a family of beluga whales that found themselves stranded on the shore. Local media reports that the residents of Kamchatka were returning from fishing when they noticed the animals in distress.

Four adult belugas and a small calf became trapped during high tide at the mouth of the Tigyl River. Reports indicate that they were making mournful sounds, seemingly calling for help.

Thanks to the fishermen, the belugas managed to hold on until a strong wave returned them to the Sea of Okhotsk. Additionally, regional authorities are preparing certificates of appreciation for the fishermen involved in the rescue.
