The 90th kilometer section of the M-1 interstate highway, where an accident occurred last night, is equipped with relevant safety features, marked accordingly, and road signs have been installed. This information has been provided by Sinohydro Corporation LLC, which is the contracting company responsible for the reconstruction of the Lanjik-Gyumri road segment.

"The permissible speed at the accident site is 50 km/h. It should be noted that the speed limits and safety measures on road sections undergoing construction are defined according to the Temporary Traffic Management Plan, which has been coordinated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to ensure road traffic safety during construction operations.

Following the accident, Sinohydro has been actively cooperating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to redirect traffic and maintain order at the scene of the incident. We express our condolences to the families and relatives of the victims of the car accident and wish a swift recovery to those injured," the statement reads.

It is recalled that a tragic car accident occurred today, on the night of August 14, near the village of Lanjik on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. At the 90th kilometer of the Yerevan-Gyumri road, a passenger minibus of the "Volkswagen" brand collided with a truck of the "ZIL" brand. Eleven individuals lost their lives, including the driver of the minibus and a tour guide from "Hamshen Tour". Six individuals sustained serious injuries. Among the injured, five are in the intensive care unit, four of whom are in critical condition, and one is in extremely critical condition. The driver of the "ZIL" truck is also among the injured.
