Norway to Send a $70 Million Counter-Drone System to Ukraine
The Norwegian technology group Kongsberg Gruppen will supply Ukraine with a counter-drone system valued at 740 million Norwegian kroner (approximately $70.8 million). This was announced by the Norwegian government.
It is noted that the delivery of the expensive system will be carried out through the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), whose main investor is Norway.
It is worth recalling that Russia had previously sent a note of protest to NATO countries for supplying military equipment to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that any cargo containing military supplies intended for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia.
Russian foreign policy officials have claimed that NATO countries, by supplying military goods to Ukraine, are playing with fire. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian president, emphasized that the West's provision of weapons to Ukraine does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and has a negative impact.
