Expired Meat, Cheese, and Juice Found in a Yerevan Supermarket: State Food Safety Inspection
The State Food Safety Inspection's inspectors discovered expired products at the 'Arev' supermarket in Yerevan and destroyed them. According to the press service of the Inspection, the authority quickly responded to the alert from a Facebook user and followed up on the matter.
As per the alert, expired food products were being sold at the 'Arev' supermarket, located at 52 Chekhov Street in Yerevan, including old and moldy sausages, bread, expired juices, and more.
'Responding quickly to the message, the inspectors from the State Food Safety Inspection conducted an inspection at the sales facility owned by 'Erirus' LLC and found expired products: 2 packs of tea, about 2 kg of basturma, boiled and smoked sausages weighing a total of about 16 kg, 2 kg of salami and ham, 4 energy drinks, and juice, along with approximately 3.5 kg of cheese,' the statement noted.
The inspection authority urges citizens to be vigilant and report violations regarding expiry dates, sanitary and hygienic standards, and proper packaging by calling the hot line at 118 or messaging the State Food Safety Inspection's social media pages.
