Do Gnel Sanosyan and Vahe Ghazaryan Have Nothing to Say or Are They Not at Fault? Daniel Ioanisyan on the Tragic Accident

“Do Gnel Sanosyan and Vahe Ghazaryan have nothing to say or are they not at fault?” This was stated by Daniel Ioanisyan, founder of the NGO “Deriving Citizens' Union,” on his Facebook page.

“If the Yerevan-Gyumri road has been under construction for about 10 years, yet still lacks a separating strip, if the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not have a strategic vision for reducing road fatalities, if intercity minibuses are being renovated in a way that the seats are not properly secured, and if no one is securing themselves in minibuses (even outside of urban areas), then we will have casualties—and many casualties. In the European Council area, we are absolutely leading in terms of road fatalities.”

He added, “Every accident has guilty drivers. But do the responsible bodies for infrastructure and traffic safety bear no blame?”

Ioanisyan further questioned, “Does Gnel Sanosyan have nothing to say about the sad state of infrastructure for ensuring road safety? Does Vahe Ghazaryan have nothing to say about the lack of a political policy on road traffic safety?”

It should be noted that earlier we reported that on August 14 at around 00:20, a tragic accident occurred on the Gyumri–Yerevan road. In the administrative territory of Lanjik village, a passenger minibus marked “Volkswagen” collided with a “ZIL” truck driven by 33-year-old H.P. The accident resulted in the deaths of 11 people.
