VIDEO. Who Wants to Have a Child This Way, Where Should They Apply? The Prime Minister to the Minister
The Armenian government will allocate an additional 500 million drams to the Ministry of Health for the reproductive health program. This was stated by the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a government meeting.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan asked Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan where people who wish to have a child through this method should apply. Avanesyan responded, "Women who are over 36 years old and have been trying for two years without success have the opportunity to become beneficiaries of this program regardless of any status."
In response to the minister, Pashinyan asked why the age limit is set at 36. "We have the medical aspect of the program's effectiveness, which suggests that 36 is the age where these technologies can be applied most effectively, but we are also considering expanding the program," the minister added, mentioning that revisions might be possible in the future.
Pashinyan responded, emphasizing that the age threshold for the program must definitely be revised. For more details, watch the video.
It is noteworthy that the program aimed at overcoming infertility in Armenia began in 2019, implemented within the framework of the state order to make expensive reproductive assistance technologies more accessible to the population.
