What Were They Feeding Him That He Now Protests With Hunger? Father of Family Murdered in Pemzashen
The father of a family brutally murdered in Pemzashen, Sevak Meliksetyan, stated in an interview with MediaHub that Arkadi and his lawyer, who are accused of killing his wife and children, are attempting to discredit the investigator in order to buy time. With the first court session scheduled for October, they know they have no option for acquittal, which is why they resort to such petty measures.
It is recalled that on November 9, in the Pemzashen community of the Shirak region, 31-year-old Zarine Meliksetyan and her two minor children were brutally murdered, with Arkadi Barseghyan being the main suspect. His lawyer, Vladimir Minasian, stated in a recent interview that his client has declared a hunger strike and demands justice, claiming he has no connection to the murders but continues to remain in custody.
“There are two months left until the trial, and they know there is no way out; they want the investigator to change and are clutching at straws. The head of the investigative team is Narek Gareginyan, a major who has been doing a great job. He has been dedicated to this case day and night since day one, and I am confident he is doing everything correctly. What we have learned is thanks to his work,” said Sevak Meliksetyan.
The father refuted claims made by Arkadi’s lawyer that there are no additional investigative actions taking place. “They have no option; whatever happens, he should serve a life sentence. I also saw your material where you mentioned that Arkadi has declared a hunger strike. Honestly, I don’t think this is interesting to anyone. What were they feeding him that he now protests with a hunger strike?” the family father pointed out.
It should also be noted that Arkadi and Vruyr Barseghyan, relatives accused of the brutal murders of Zarine Meliksetyan and her two minor children, are currently in custody. The murder case is still in the preliminary investigation phase.
