Inmate Throws Package of Suspicious Pills from Hospital Window
On August 9, at around 10:10 AM, officers from the security and operational departments of the "Penitentiary Hospital" of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia entered one of the hospital rooms to conduct a search, according to the Correctional Service.
Inmate M.M., noticing the correctional officers, threw a white package out of the window. The officers immediately cordoned off the area and discovered the package hidden in a white handkerchief, which contained approximately three dozen pills. Specifically, there were 26 whole, light yellow pills and 4 pieces of the same pill, as well as one whole and one partial pink pill.
Inmate M.M. claimed that the pills do not belong to him, that he is not aware of them, and that he threw not a handkerchief out of the window, but a crumpled piece of paper. The discovered items were sent for forensic chemical examination.
