The Level of Lake Sevan Decreased by 1 cm in One Week
The level of Lake Sevan decreased by 1 cm from July 31 to August 6, reaching 1900.48 m as of August 6, 2023. This level is 15 cm lower than on the same day last year, but 20 cm higher than the level on January 1, 2023.
This information was reported by the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center, which noted that the volume of water drawn from Lake Sevan for irrigation purposes during the period from July 31 to August 6 was 16.822 million m³. The total volume of water drawn from May 14 to August 6, inclusive, amounts to 145.926 million m³.
During the same period, the amount of water transferred to Lake Sevan via the Arpa-Sevan water conduit was 0.694 million m³, while the cumulative total from January 1 to August 6, 2023, was 84.741 million m³.
