Taxi Fares in Russia Reach Record Levels

Taxi fares in Russia have reached record high levels, with the average cost per kilometer now at 32.53 rubles, approximately 130 AMD. This is the highest rate seen in the past decade.

The data was published by the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia, providing figures dating back to 2014, when the average fare was 22.98 rubles, or about 100 AMD.

Experts believe that the primary reasons for this increase are the rising prices of vehicles due to the political situation and sanctions. For comparison, in Armenia, taxi fares have increased significantly not over a decade, but rather over the past few months, leading to noticeably higher travel costs.
