Erdogan Plans to Resume Grain Deal in 'Expanded' Format
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has announced his intention to resume the grain deal in an 'expanded' format. He also called on Western countries to help transform this agreement into a basis for peaceful negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, as reported by Bloomberg.
Erdogan stated that discussions are ongoing for the resumption of the 'expanded' format of the deal, but its implementation depends on whether 'Western countries will fulfill their promises.' The Turkish President did not clarify what the format and conditions would entail.
It is worth noting that Russian authorities exited the grain deal on July 17, stating that part of the arrangements regarding the easier export of fertilizers from Russia had not been fulfilled.
