Warning: Outbreaks of African Swine Fever Recorded in Artsakh

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Artsakh urges and demands that farmers involved in the sale of livestock and meat ensure that these products are sold only with the required accompanying documents, including a certificate from the community leader regarding the ownership of the animal and a certificate from the veterinary doctor servicing the community, which is issued after pre-slaughter and post-slaughter inspections.

At the same time, it is reported that outbreaks of African Swine Fever have been recorded in certain areas of the republic, therefore we call on everyone to strictly adhere to all sanitary and hygienic norms regarding the sale of pork, including the existence of the aforementioned documents, in order to prevent the further spread of the disease.

The sale of animals and meat without the required veterinary documents poses various health risks to the population; therefore, we urge consumers to demand the relevant certificates from the seller before purchasing meat.
