Textbooks for 2nd, 5th, and 7th Grades Approved by Minister's Decree

In accordance with the new state educational standards, the textbooks for 2nd, 5th, and 7th grades have been approved by the decree of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia. According to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, the new state educational standards will be gradually implemented in all schools in Armenia starting in 2023, which also implied changes in textbooks.

Deputy Minister Araksia Svajyan stated that after studying both local and international experiences, it was decided to separate the textbook creation process from the printing process. The textbook competition announced last year, the deadline of which had been extended several times, has now concluded. According to the Deputy Minister, a total of 59 textbook applications were submitted, of which some have received positive expert assessments for printing, while others did not.

Specifically, for the 2nd grade, 17 textbook applications were submitted, of which 12 were approved; for the 5th grade, 14 out of 17 applications were approved; and for the 7th grade, 21 out of 25 applications were approved.
