Statistical New Data: 110 Boys for Every 100 Girls

The Statistical Committee has released demographic indicators for the population of Armenia for the period of January to June. According to the data, in the first half of 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, birth rates in Armenia have increased by 2.6%.

In the first half of 2023, a total of 16,939 children were born, compared to 16,511 in 2022. However, there was a 1.8% decrease in birth rates compared to the same period in 2021 when 17,249 children were registered.

During the first half of 2023, 12,472 people died in the country, which is a decrease of 15% compared to the same period in 2022 (14,679 people) and 24% lower than the figures from the first half of 2021 (16,403 people).

During this reporting period, there were 110 boys for every 100 girls.
