New Details Uncovered About the Murder in Yerevan
On August 7, 2023, at 01:00 AM, a report was received from the "Astghik" medical center regarding a man with a gunshot wound to the head being transported there. Shortly after, the medical center reported that at 01:03 AM, the individual, Arsen Hovsepyan, had died.
Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated at the investigative department of the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of the RA Investigation Committee under parts 1 of Article 155 and 1 of Article 335 of the RA Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
During the examination of the crime scene, located opposite 52 R. Melikyan Street in Yerevan, traces of a blood-like substance, a fired cartridge casing of 9X19mm caliber, a fragment of a bullet, and one bullet from the exterior wall of the mentioned house were found. Additionally, gunshot marks were discovered on a "Toyota" brand vehicle at the crime scene.
It was revealed that immediately after the incident, the victim A. Hovsepyan was transported to the medical center in a "Mercedes-Benz" vehicle. An inspection of the medical center's parking lot uncovered the mentioned vehicle, which bore a gunshot wound and traces of a blood-like substance.
Forensic, ballistic, toxicological, material, and genetic examinations have been ordered. Footage from cameras that captured the crime scene has been obtained. The investigation continues. Necessary measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances of the crime. The investigative body has been tasked with discovering significant aspects of the case, including the weapon used in the crime and identifying the perpetrator or perpetrators.
